Tour de Crypto & Electra
Charities are philanthropic organizations which have long sought to help those in need, through accepting donations and passing them on to those less fortunate. There are countless charitable institutions out there that strive to make a difference in areas ranging anywhere from cancer research to the protection of our civil liberties. A common theme among these organizations is that they accept donations only in the form of fiat currency.
With the increase in cryptocurrency projects worldwide, you would think charities would allow for their donation alongside fiat currency. But the truth is, many do not accept these new payment methods, and many most likely aren’t even aware of them. Tour de Crypto aims to eradicate the barrier between the uneducated and the blockchain by connecting charities and donors with cryptocurrencies.
Tour de Crypto
Tour de Crypto is an initiative to cycle across the United States, raising awareness of cryptocurrency and their use throughout charitable agencies. This initiative will begin in 2018 on September 14th, starting from the East Coast, in the Hamptons, NY, and launching from Manhattan, NY on September 16th.
Tour de Crypto is the first annual cycling road trip created to raise cryptocurrency ( digital currency ) awareness for charity. The first tour ( 2018 ) consists of 2 riders Jason Berlin & Jovel Velasquez, along with a driver, videographers and audio crew.
The whole tour will be recorded by the film crew trailing the riders. The coverage of their journey will be broadcast through a live feed and shared on multiple social media platforms, delivering a high-quality presentation visible to the world. Upon completion of the expedition, Tour de Crypto aspires to compile the events of the journey into a documentary to be transmitted on a major media platform and witnessed in homes across the globe.
The tour not only consists of riders cycling across the vast distance of the continental U.S. but along the way, interviews will be conducted and shared through the same live feed. This will establish the best possible exposure of cryptocurrencies throughout the tour by addressing any questions that curious individuals may have along the way. The year 2018 is the beginning of this initiative, but it will not be the last year it is performed. Every year, Tour de Crypto will launch another excursion, solidifying and strengthening the message the tour seeks to share.
Tour de Crypto intends to enlighten charities, as well as businesses and individuals alike, about the benefit of adopting digital currencies. Cryptocurrencies offer several advantages over the traditional fiat currency the world has become accustomed to using. Lower transaction and processing fees, fast and efficient transactions, access to international institutions, transparency, and security are some of the many edges that blockchain technology has imparted upon our financial interactions.
Electra as the Official Sponsor
The Tour de Crypto initiative was created by Electra’s advisor, Maverick, also known as, Jason Berlin. Berlin will be presenting Electra along the trek, spreading the awareness of Electra’s cause along the way. Berlin’s cycling jersey will include official Electra logos to ensure the world will see, and want to question, what the Electra Project is all about.
The Electra Project has agreed to become the official sponsor of the Tour de Crypto to help spread awareness of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Another ambition the Tour de Crypto strives to achieve is to have community-based cryptocurrency projects, such as Electra, chose a charitable organization and raise funding for their accepted foundation. If each cryptocurrency project embraces Tour de Crypto’s challenge, mass adoption will be realized sooner other than later.
Community projects offer tremendous influence — they foster the ability to educate and empower the outside world on what cryptocurrencies provide.
